MEET OUR FOUNDERS
co-founder & CEO
Demetris Makaritis
Demetris Makaritis is the Co-Founder and CEO of Ethos Shipmanagement and serves on its board of directors.
Prior to launching Ethos in August 2022, Demetris held various leadership positions in reputable ship-owning and ship management companies based in London, U.K. and Limassol, Cyprus. He has collected a wealth of experience by having begun his career in 2004 as an engine cadet onboard seagoing vessels to holding executive positions in internationally renowned shipping companies, such as Navigator Gas, Zodiac Maritime, V-Ships (Glasgow) and Marlow Navigation.
Demetris enjoys being active in industry-led bodies, where he has in the past been an active member for the Intertanko Gas Tanker committee, the Standard Club Safety & Loss Advisory Committee and the DNV European (West) Technical Committee.
Demetris earned an MSc from Bayes (formerly Cass) business school and a BEng in Marine Technology with Honours in Naval Architecture from Newcastle upon Tyne University. He is also a Chartered Engineer with the U.K. Engineering Council and a Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects.

Captain Alexandros F. Kosmidis
Captain Alexandros F. Kosmidis has over 15 years of experience in the shipping industry, with a focus on marine management and ship operations. Prior to launching Ethos, he led the Marine department and provided guidance and
support through his expertise to the Seagoing Crew and the Masters, as well as his colleagues ashore at a well-known ship management company. He started by studying Management before he joined and graduated with honours as a Valedictorian at the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos, Greece.
For almost 12 years Alexandros sailed for some of the leading companies in the industry onboard Crude Oil tankers and LNG carriers reaching the highest rank on board. He was promoted to Master Mariner in one of the most reputable ship-owning Greek companies, taking under his command a new delivered LNG/C, gaining considerable experience and competency.
As his first vessel’s name under his command “Endeavour” indicates, the Ethos Team will endeavour and is eager to ensure that you will achieve your goals by providing the “ethical” way
of ship management.

Manfred heinrichs
Mr. Manfred Heinrichs has a long-standing career within the maritime industry and has accomplished a lot through his almost 40 years of experience.
His ethics, strong personality as well as outstanding leadership skills proved to be the means with which he established and maintained his company and the people surrounding him with great success.
Throughout his career, he always managed to stay insightful, which led to the success of his professional endeavours.
Mr. Heinrichs is the founder of Internaut Shipping GmbH. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Bremen, Internaut Shipping GmbH had a strong focus on the trade with North Africa, mainly with Algeria. A large number of shipments with steel products, milkpowder, clay and constructions have been carried by Internaut Shipping GmbH controlled vessels. The strong relationships with shippers and receivers as well as a reliable port agency structure made it inevitable to increase the cargo volume during the years. Due to the increasing demand and the necessity to become independent from market fluctuations, Internaut Shipping GmbH decided to invest and acquire its own vessels. This expanded the company’s operations and in 2002 a branch office was opened in Cyprus.
